 POUND CAKE

                           Pound cake is a type of cake traditionally made with a pound of each of four ingredients: flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. Pound cakes are generally baked in either a loaf pan or a Bundt mold. They are sometimes served either dusted with powdered sugar, lightly glazed, or with a coat of icing.


Ingredients

● Refined flour - 450gm

● Sugar (soft) -  450gm

● Butter -  450gm

● Eggs - 10

● Baking powder - 1Tsp

● Vanilla - 2Tsp


Method

1. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.

2. Add egg yolks and flavouring and beat mixture well.

3. Sieve flour with baking powder.

4. Whisk egg whites to a stiff froth.

5. Alternately add flour and egg whites to creamed mixture and blend lightly.

6. Pour mixture into a lined cake tin and bake at 150°C (300°F approx.) for about 1-2 hours.
